nklr heated vest
The Widder vest I ordered just got here. It looks & fits great. But, they
sent me the wrong vest. I ordered the system vest without the collar, and
they sent me the vest with a collar. Since this vest cost $21 dollars more
than I paid, I'll give it a try.
Where is the best place to run the power cord on a KLR?

I have my cord run down the frame tube next to the sidestand switch
cover. I fasten it to the frame with 2 zip-ties to relieve the stress,
so if I come off the bike the cord unplugs before the wires get pulled
off the battery. It also hangs down this way, so water drips off it in
bad weather.
Grease all the connectors.

For my Aerostitch vest I put a BMW plug in that plastic cover over
the side stand safety switch. Works well.

I got my Widder Lectric Vest last week after ordering after you did. And
you are just now getting yours? Guess it helps to have "connections"...
I really like the design of the vest and am glad that the lady I talked with
talked me into a couple of sizes larger. Guess my trim six pack abs aren't
as six pack as I remembered them to be. It fits a little snug around the
middle and is just a little loose in the chest. Now the big question is do
you wear your heated vest under or over your jacket liners? I like to have
my Killimanjaro liner zipped to my jacket but with the Widder over my liner,
this isn't possible. I run my cord to come out just in front of the left
side of my seat. It hasn't been cold enough to give it a good try here
since Moab is still in Indian summer but it feels plenty warm setting on my
bike in my shop.
Now taking orders at: http://www.angelfire.com/ut/moab/elec_app.html

Put on a t-shirt, put on the vest, put on your jacket with the liner zipped in, turn on the vest and be TOASTY!!! All heated gear should be worn under insulation. You'll love it!!! Try the Gerbing gloves, too. They're fabulous! I run my pigtail out of the left side panel. I then plug in an extension cord and the coiled cord and run them under the tank and up the left side between the body work an the the fairing (behind the radiator. I then have velcro cable ties to hold the cord to the crossbar of my handlebar. I put a square of male velcro on the back of my Heat Troller, and it sticks nicely to the belt band on my Darien jacket. I think I will put a strip of electrical tape along the seam at the front of the tank. It seems a little sharp. I also have gotten into the habit of running the Battery Tender on the bike for a couple of hours after being out with the vest (I have an aerostich vest). Ralph Ralph E.
