Yea.....the pavement is to get from the motel to the entrance /ranch gate and then back home outta the place after...so the 90% is a mix of valley reddish dirt/clay, slippy as hell if wet, we got hit by a freak hail storm last year, lots of gravel, big chunky stuff where you have to gase it to keep going..lots of ups and downs. The fee cater for the gas stops set up along the way and lunches and a great teeshirt. We saw sand at the begining, a dried out river bed, thick sand, really thick...and the occasssional wash out/creek bed you come across. It's awesome scenery. --- Original Message --- From: John Irvine To: lizndave@..., AMA585601@... CC: DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DSN_klr650] 6th Annual Terlingua Sport Ride Texas Details

Well as Texans down there are pretty wild : ) and moved there to get away from everybody..they don't particularly like bikers taking over the place and will tolerate an annual ride, so they don't want anyone recording the area to ride again without their knowledge..thats what we were told. But, the Ranch/Motel at Terlingua will issue maps and show you dirt roads you can ride in small groups. Also there are border patrols down there being close to Mexico. http://www.terlinguaranch.com/ --- Original Message --- From: IronJungle@... To: lizndave@... lighting mods for the klr 650

Glen: You can upgrade your stock H4 bulb with a Xenon filled 9003 bulb you can find at Wal-Mart or an auto parts store. I am using the SYLVANIA Cool Blue 9003 CB bulb and I am happy with the results. Some listers have used higher wattage bulbs that are available. Also check out Jim "The Professor" Hyman's excellent Wiring Upgrade file in the Yahoo Groups files section under Wiring and Instruments As far as headlight modulators check out the following link, this should get you started. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-technical-articles/modulator.htm For blinking taillights, I use a set of Lifebright brake lights that I attached to a homemade mount. Check out the Yahoo Groups files section under Wiring and Instruments and look for LED Bracket. Pictures and blueprints of the lights and mount are posted. http://www.web-rider.net/lifebrite/pics.html http://www.hyperlites.com/unikits.html Another good source for lighting info: http://lighting.mbz.org Hope this helps, John --- Glen Martin wrote:
