Harry, The Iron Butt ride is 11 1,000 mile days. I would not be so quick to brush off the significant effort and stamina this ride requires. I have done about a half-dozen 1K+ miles days - but never back-to-back and I can assure you that it is not "easy" just because you are on paved roads. All but one of my 1000/24 were on a ST1100 - the last one was on my GS. Three weeks ago I rode straight through from Kimberley BC to Loveland CO - 1210 miles in just over 20 hours. I was pretty much wasted and certainly would not want to have done 10 more days just like it. Granted, a different seat (Russell) on my GS, and a secondary fuel cell would have made the trip more tolerable - but not easy. YMMV rod --- Harry Thames wrote:
