I think it's time for a List Poll. Hotdogs is a subject just recently arrived at so I pose the question to the list: Kraut Dog Chili Dog Slaw Dog Or plain with Mustard Also, does anyone have cooking techniques on how we can cook our hotdogs on the mighty KLR engine? Swampy Who prefers Boarshead all beef natural casings with a hearty heaping helping of saurkraut on a slightly steamed roll and washing it down with a chocolate yoohoo or a Doc Browns celery soda. maybe even a nice tall cold frosty beer.....yeah...beeeeeeer...D'OH!

How about none of the above? (Yeah, I know, there's one in every crowd.) Plain with sweet pickle relish and catsup, for me. The perfect "hotdog-like" thing is the bratwurst from Schwans, (www.schwans.com), however. I bet you didn't expect any serious replies, but here's one! For cooking, make one or two wraps with foil around the hotdog(s) and a couple wraps around the hotdog "package" and the muffler. Ride an hour or so and you're ready to eat! Really. Those are O.K. Try a Southwestern flavor - any kind of sausage (or hot dog) wrapped in a flour tortilla smothered inside and out with red or (preferably) green chile (not chili, sorry north Texas) sprinkled with chicharron. Don't forget a bottle of Breckinridge Avalanche (would settle for Corona or Tecate). "Swede" - acting like one of Pavlov's dogs (salavating like crazy) just thinking about it.

How about a burnt weenie sandwich. Frank Zappa liked them, Hebrew National dog blackened on a bun. I like, depending on the mood, anything from ketchup,chile, mustard, jalepeno mustard, horseradish mustard, horseradish, pickle relish, onions, sauerkraut, to last but not least chunky peanut butter. If you really must put ketchup on a hot dog, paint it on before you throw it on the grill, then cook it 'till its black (burn or carmalize the ketchup). If you have the right kind of dog it'll explode about the time it's done. Don't even need a bun. I don't know what to tell you about the lite beer. -- chef bierdo
