headlamp bulb

Post by jonathan.sykes@smallworld-us.com » Sun Aug 12, 2001 5:32 pm

Yo. I'd like to replace my headlamp bulb with something brighter. I can pull the rubber cover/connector off, but can't seem to figure out how to get the bulb out (don't want to break it). How to do it? Any recommendations, brightest bulb for $, etc? Thanks.

> Eastwood Company, Unique Automotive Products makes left handed drill > bits. Thses work well on new bolts, as they drill they generate heat > and the left handed action will sometimes back the bolt or broken > bolt out of the threads. Works better on new, not as good on rusted > bolts. www.eastwoodcompany.com Hopes this helps, John
Ever since the original post I have read many positive idea's and replies on how to fix the situation. *THIS* is what people join the list for! This sort of comradere is also why I'm looking to get a KLR over a few other bikes out there. Cudo's to the group! My only meager contribution: As opposed to hauling around the entire bike, how much harder would it be to drain the coolant and just take the engine itself out? I can't see it being overly difficult but then again I don't own a KLR yet and haven't looked at it. I recall my YZ's and CR's (also watercooled but on both sides) were not too much of a hassle to drop the motors out of... This would also make it easier (read: cheaper) for a good machine shop to get the work done since they can put it wherever they want it and manipulate it the easiest. They can also lay it into a machine if needed where you can't do that with it still in the bike. At any rate, good luck! Don't forget to use lots of penetrating oil and see if that can't help losen things up a bit.
