i guess i just mean that it doesn't provide much cardiovascular or strength improvement when done on a regular basis. a little, yeah. but anyone who knows me wouldn't need to ask if i mean "can't have fun" by serious. there's very little i take seriously, in that context. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I'd love to see these "Fit" MX riders average 27-28 MPH for over 2000 miles around France(that's under their own muscle power). Through the Alps and Pyrenees(SP?). I think you're comparing apples and oranges. -Jim _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Even amateur bike racers are very fit.

Please do not use cycling for a comparison. They are ALL using drugs, the cyclists that is. During the last razzia they found stuff that have not even been tested on animals yet. It is so sick it is unbelivable. I used to watch tour de france a lot previously, but can't anymore. I still enjoy cycling myself though. And by the way, if you took a cyclist and stuck him on a mx bike, he would not stand a chance in hell either, their upperbodies are completely underdeveloped, something very necessary for mx, right? Claes, a swede in Dublin. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Keal [mailto:jimkeal@...] Sent: 31 July 2001 13:05 To: DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [DSN_klr650] Re: exercise (NKLR)

My point exactly. Apples and oranges....

The word 'sport' is a misnomer as soon as money is involved. Where there's money 'sportsmen' are willing to sell their very souls and destroy their own bodies and minds to compete. IMHO money defines the end of sport. Paraphrasing Alexander King: I would rather be strapped to a belching syphilitic eskimo prostitute eating walrus blintzes than watch a 'sporting' event. Get a life! Get off your asses and do your own thing. -- bierdo Spectator, not!

Wait-a-holdit!! You mean that just because a few guys test positive for doping that ALL pro cyclists are using and because of that it's ok to be a big fat out of shape guy and pretend that an hour of pedaling is not better for you than an hour letting a motor propel you (with your big-massive MX upper body)?? I can make no sense too!!! Dan Oaks wrote:

No doubt! I don't like being cast as anti-MC cause I love my KLR. For me, road cycling is the best exercise. Either way, if you're outside mixin' it up, you're bound to be better off. That's my philosophy, think I'll leave now...before I step in it!! Ron Criswell wrote:
