Nah... to bad they don't make them in a .22 magnum. A metal-jacketed hollow point .22 mag +V is better suited for bare-minimum survival in my opinion.... unless the definition of survival has changed to "eating squirrel until the rescue plane arrives". Mark B2 A2 A3

Yep, the Ruger Single-Six is better piece for packing on the bike, I believe they even come in Stainless. Mine's just regular blued steel (not that great a bluing job) but you can change to the magnum cylinder in a minute maybe two. I think I've had this gun around for twenty five years...do they still make them? More accurate than one of those AR-7s.....I had one, they've been around for years, it doesn't give one the feeling they are shooting a quality piece.....

The main difference between a pistol and a rifle or shotgun is the legality. You can get in big trouble in some states/countries for having a handgun (the main reason I follow the law when out of state, don't want to get searched). I doubt that we would get into a survival situation on motorcycles. There's a chance we could have problems with predators and if that's the case I would prefer something much larger than a 22 rimfire. Maybe we could have a bowling pin match at the next get together.
