Yes, a brand new 2001 with 80 miles on it. broke both shrouds bend the handle bars toar off the hand guards bend the fairing bracket dinged the muffler. The KLR isn't meant for carnegie. Go on Mines road (livermore) to Mt Hamilton (san jose) with your KLR it's alot of fun plus you can open it up to 90 mph.

Mark, Why don't you send a e-mail to Brian Halton at CityBike? He rides at Carnegie and owns a KLR. Kari Prager at California BMW sometimes organizes Sunday rides off road. I'm sure a KLR would be welcome. Also contact Dr. Wong for Sunday rides (some off road). I used to ride my KLR at Holister but did so badly they made me move to Southern California.. citybike@... One better than that.... flipped the bike tearing off both handguards, breaking (not bending) the handlebars, breaking one mirror where attached to bracket attached to broken handlebars, broke front windshield faring and windshield, bent mounting bracket for headlight and front signal lights. I just want to thank my very good friends for taking an inexperienced rider to the Grand Canyon of hills and telling him to correct anything just....GIVE IT MORE GAS!! Shane Blah Blah Blah, what a load of crap. The Grand Canyon as you call it was nothing more than a tiny little ditch. One that a 4 year old kid could jump across. BTW "give it more gas!" does not mean to accelerate from 0 - wide open in one jerk of the throttle, while sitting at the crest of a hill. TARD! You could just purchase comprehensive coverage, to cover fire, vandalism, and theft.
