maybe I got a "soft batch" set, as mine were whooped
@6K, should have been replaced @ 5K......

11k on gripsters???
Only got about 8k out of mine, but I foolishly ran the KAW rec. pressure for
the first 5k miles. I feel it would have lasted longer if proper pressure
had been maintained from the beginning.

I think Kawasaki says 24 psi. The bike feels a little mushy on 24 so
I go to 30 psi.

PHW,
After finding and reading several posts from this list, I bumped the tire
pressures 30psi front, 32psi rear. The difference in handling was
immediately noticeable. After riding in some gravel/sand (through the
parking lot at work), I noticed that the rear tire had a much larger contact
area across the tread. Before the change in pressure, the rear tire was
wearing mainly in the center and only about 1.5 inches wide. Now the tire
wears almost across the entire width of the tread area. I am not as precise
as I should be and only check the pressure about once a week. I ride this
bike usually 4 days per week commuting 13 miles each way. Hope this helps.

Sounds good to me, I went through 1 stock and 2 IRC GP110s at
9,500 miles , I put a AM24 on the rear, Seems to be holding up pretty good,

Thanks for your reply. The higher pressure/more road contact goes against
my common sense, but it's been wrong before. Seems the lower the pressure,
the flatter the tire and the more tire in contact with road, no? Will give
your way a try.

For what it's worth, the lower air pressure results in more flexing of the
tire carcass.
This creates more heat which is the real enemy of any tire.
