goodbye?

Post by tom stone » Tue May 01, 2001 6:58 pm

My wife says I have to sell my beloved '89 if I want a new bike. So I have two questions: 1) Will it hurt the bike if I mix a quart or so of motor oil with a tank of gas (I figure if I make it smoke enough nobody will by it)? and 2) How much does an '89 sell for (I need to set a price that's beleivable to my wife - but too high for anyone to pay)? I'm dead serious on both questions. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

As for the price...$3,000 ought to do it... Kurt

Depending on the wife, you could go the opposite route.... ....tell her you surveyed the KLR list and the bike is only worth $500. Tell her everyone knows it was a lemmon year, the paint sucked, the next year was better/faster, etc. Then convince her that since you can only get $500, you may as well keep it. that's beleivable to my wife - but too high for anyone to pay)? I'm dead serious on both questions. That is the funniest thing I've read on list in a long time! Don't see what harm the oil would do but as Kurt said, go alittle at a time. I'd set the price around $2 - $2.5K depending on mileage. Be "willing" to drop to $1800 but not a penny less. ;') Good luck selling, um, not selling, your bike dat brooklyn bum (thanks for the chuckle)
