tweety exhaust

Post by Brad Davis » Tue Jun 20, 2000 10:19 am

Hi Everybody, I looked throught the archive and did not find anything conclusive about the "Tweety Bird" exhaust syndrome. Did anyone ever figure out what caused it and whether or not it is a serious problem? The reason I am asking is that the KLR I would like to buy has recently begun "tweeting". Thanks, Brad (A9 maybe) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com/

Do people who live in humid areas have more problems with tweeting exhaust? It sounds like it's caused by rusting if the internal parts of the muffler. As the muffler cools down after you turn off the motor water condenses on the inside of a muffler causing it to rust. Living in an area with more moisture in the air may cause the rusting or tweeting to happen sooner then others. Also driving in the rain. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Dr. Dahlheimer has space, and lots of time. He'll do it for free, too. I'm serious, sort of, until Pete tells me to shut up. Stuart (Agent)
