With all the recent threads about fork springs, I wanted to share that I have just installed the Larry Roesler fork springs (and AM-24's). The fork installation went fine, cut the original spacers down to 2" (per the instructions KLR specific recomendation, also, ~2" was the figure if you applied the formula they gave for figuring-out preload and spacer size). The original oil was ugly looking ((7k), it felt good to drain it out and refill with high quality 10w oil. I left the air pressure atmospheric. The factory had installed the washer with the rounded, protruding center (goes between top of spring and spacer) different on each side. I put the protruding part down, into the spring on each side. I put the tightly wound ends of the springs down, the instructions said it didn't matter. I chose the tubeless Avon's (used tubes). I have been running OEM dunlops from Dualstar since new, so this should feel different! The front end appears to sit higher. I have only ridden a short distance, but the ride is smoother and reduced fork dive when braking was immediately noticable. The tires have less rolling resistance, I'm sure they will be much better on road. Needless to say, I am stoked. I think I will go out to the garage again and admire what I can (and can't) see.
