I have a job opportunity I'm considering it San Diego. Pay would be about 25% more than in Salt Lake City. Anyone have comments on living/working in San Diego? Cost of living? Crime? What else should I know? Kurt Simpson Salt Lake City UT

Kurt, San Diego is.......... beautiful girls walking around everywhere weather that's never too hot or too cold ten minutes from Mexico close to great beach towns like Ocean Beach and Mission Beach Stay off the 405 freeway or whatever it is, the one that goes past san clemente up to LA.

Not to mention the awesome riding out in the east part of the county.

At least double.

Pretty girls with an attitude. Not so pretty girls with an attitude.

Tijuana?? I'll take the Sea of Cortez, thanks.

If you call an eight to ten hour drive close

No girls, just fags. I know because I used to fly hang gliders over it. All the fags are why we didn't like landing on the beach worse than having to carry all the gear back up the cliffs. You don't want to know what those jokers do in the bushes. =[ *Black's beach is a GAY beach, PERIOD!!*
> * Near Joshua Tree
If you call an eight to ten hour drive close. Joshua tree is too popular now. Used to be fun in the 70's and 80's.

Plenty of places with that. Just get out of the snow and rain. Besides, it is actually pretty cold and damp in the winter. Agreed, it beats snow.
> > Did that cover it?
You forgot long lines everywhere, lot's of nasty traffic, and no place to park. Oh yeah, there isn't any real back country any more either. If you want to take a ride in back country, you got a very long day ahead of you. I can go on and on about the downers. It is really just a bunch of hype. Nice place to visit, but....

25% increase in SD will be eaten immediately by direct and indirect taxes, higher operational expenses, and debt equity. No kidding. Quality of life? It's cute and nicely urban in SD, but IMHO overrated. May I suggest self-employment and consideration of world, rather than local, markets? Go where you can see stars at night, then figure out the make-a-living part. Sell specialty bolts from the desert. Sleep with the Marketing Director in the middle of the day. Rub up against the FedEx lady and tell her you couldn't live without her. Go offroad riding without having to use a trailer - any day of the week. You didn't ask for this, I know. Shut me up. > Pretty girls with an attitude. Not so pretty girls with an
attitude. Pretty Girls with bad attitudes are everywhere, though I will admit that pretty girls with nice attitudes are easier to find in rural areas everywhere and in the deep south. I don't like rural areas (no jobs in my career field) and I don't like the deep south, so dealing with the SoCal "bitch-shield" becomes a necessary evil. Besides, Kurt might just be a married man. I'm not "on-the-market" so I don't really care at this point.
>>* Near Mexico > Tijuana?? I'll take the Sea of Cortez, thanks.
No, man! Baja! Dual-sporting! TJ is for discount drugs and fake handbags.
>>* Pretty UCSD girls > with an attitude
Hey, the bitch-shield is penetrable. It's an acquired skill.
>>* Near Death Valley > If you call an eight to ten hour drive close
Closer than SLC, that's for sure.
>>* Pretty beach girls > with an attitude
Did them lil' girls do you wrong at some point? Tell us how you REALLY feel! ;-)
>>* Near Vegas >If you call an eight to ten hour drive close
It's 4.5 hours from Orange County. It can't be 8-10 from SD unless you leave during rush hour. Besides, it's just over one hour gate-to- gate to fly SAN-LAS.
>>* Pretty girls at Black's Beach >No girls, just fags. I know because I used to fly hang gliders over >it. All the fags are why we didn't like landing on the beach worse >than having to carry all the gear back up the cliffs.
There's girls out there. I seen 'em. Yes, they're outnumbered, but they're out there.
>You don't want to know what those jokers do in the bushes. =[
I do know. Sounds like a good reason to stay away from the bushes.
>*Black's beach is a >GAY beach, PERIOD!!*
Black's is a nude beach with a sizeable gay population.
>>* Near Joshua Tree >If you call an eight to ten hour drive close. Joshua tree is too >popular now. Used to be fun in the 70's and 80's.
It ain't 8-10 hours. No way, no how.
>Oh yeah, there isn't any real back country any more >either. If you want to take a ride in back country, you got a very >long day ahead of you.
Borrego? Murietta? Temecula? Palomar? What kind of back country are you talking about?
>>RM I lived there most of my life. Couldn't get out fast enough.
I'm in Orange County, and I have no plans to leave, unless my next job contract happens to be in SD (or LA). I love it here. RM
