They probably picked up this idea from Midwestern turtle fishermen. When you "fish" for snapping turtles through the ice the critters are so ornery that they contribute to their own demise. Catch one and leave him on the ice and he goes into his shell. Catch a second and place him in front of the first and the first gets so angry he reaches out and grabs the seconds tail and will not let go with his powerful jaws. You keep that going on and on. When you're ready to head home you poke a stick at the first in line and get him to grab on to it. Then you "train" the whole mess across the ice to your truck. Want to hear the rest? Well, you get them home and put them in a big tub with clean water. You keep cleaning the water for a month while they clean themselves out. After a month they make wonderful turtle stew/soup. Tastes just like chicken. Struth, Kurt

Lots of luck trying to keep chickens in a tub of water for a month. They'd be all over the house. Bogdan

I still prefer chicken to anything I've ever tasted that tasted like chicken. Is this a chicken joke? -- bierdo Kurt Simpson wrote:

Turtles have a very soft texture and do not taste like chicken. Even two days before Sunday. Gustavo
