Does anyone know if there's a lift kit for the KLR? I know that there is the
lowering kits, however, unlike some or most, I'm not vertically challenged.
I also don't have the monetary allowance for the Progressive Shock.

Steve,   For a lift kit for the KLR650 (and many other bikes) go to http://www3.sympatico.ca/a.jones/index.htm   The owner/engineer's name is Andrew Jones and he builds adjustable replacement links for rear unishock systems.  The links can be lengthened as well as shortened so he addresses both issues.    A consideration when altering the rear shock links is to try to maintain the ratio of front/rear ride height, else you may wind up with some very interesting (not positive) handling characteristics.  I ride a 2001 KLR650 and my triple clamps are at the top of my front forks.  In your situation (raising ride height) you will need to lower the front forks in the triple clamps which will be difficult if they are already at the top.  I would discuss it with Andrew, he may be able to supply a replacement triple clamp which will allow the adjustment you need.   FWIW   Wayne 2001 KLR650

Hi, Fit the ohlins shock. Progresive springs, start at 15mm preload. This should lift you at least an inch. Regards Brian A14 D15

Thanks for the info, but as I said before, I have limited purchasing resources, like under $100. If someone were to give me the stock link dimensions vs. the R&D 1" or 1.5" lowering link dimensions, I think I could make my own lift links. That and change the lower springs to 1" shorter with a PVC pipe extender for lift in the forks. I have no problem with the stock fork springs. Hi, Sorry i do not have the link dimensions. The LR springs are under $100, if not try preloading the standard springs by 1/2 to one inch. They are worth it. I won't go into the ohlins 46mm USD forks then. Best wishes Brian A14 D17
