I know we went over this a couple of weeks ago but, I am asking now because my Hot Grips came in the mail yesterday. I am not looking for how to wire a relay but where to put it and where to get the power from the key so the grips aren't on when the key is off. Can we use the famous "euro light" leads up front for the relay? What size relay have others used? I have no access to the web right now and have been switched to Lotus Notes from MS Outlook. : ( Biker Mike

Mike, I got a 30 amp relay from AutoZone, I'm sure other part stores will have them. They are usually found by the fog and driving lights and cost about $4.00. I mounted mine on the rear fender under the seat. I took switch power from the tail light and ran the ground wire straight to the battery. Of course the positive supply wire came straight off the battery. Gino

i used a 30amp automotive relay from radio shack, and i wired the switch connection to the euro light lead. been using it for about 2 weeks now. seems to work great. i put the relay, and the switch for my heating elements in a little plastic circuit board box (about 1 1/2 x 2 x 3) and stuck it to the back side of the speedo panel with double-stick tape. on the enduro-engineering heaters, i spliced in extra wire in various places to put things where i wanted them. mw

I think I used 12gauge. It was just some wire I had around in the garage. I put a 10 amp inline fuse on it. Gino
