(klr650) 37k update

Post by drainr@TBEUK.COM » Wed Oct 18, 2000 11:58 am

Attachments :Howdy folks, Just a quick update for ya. 37k now and everythings just fine. I started using WD40 on the new chain at 31k and so far there has been no sign of wear. Not only that the bike stays much cleaner than it did using chain wax. Still have not checked the valve adjustment, the only thing that worries me now is the cam chain, though there is no noise from the engine, im tempted to get it checked out pretty soon and at the same time reluctant to touch anything on the engine. If it aint broke, dont fix it. The 38t rear sprocket I have is ideal for my journey, cruising speed is a comfy 80mph but 90mph feels ok when im running late. Unless anything happens, ill report again at 50k Richard d '98KLR650 C3 37k ********************************************************************** This e-mail and the information it contains may be privileged and/or confidential . Hi, Well, when it does break it will be mega expensive to fix. "A stitch in time saves nine" "Repent at leisure." "Prevention is better (and cheaper) than cure" Regards, in good humour, and smelling burnt valve seats. Briab A14 D17

How does it pull in 1st and 2nd gear? I am running the 16t and stock 43t rear, I am tickled pink with this gearing (pleased) Mike

I have been sitting on the sidelines on this one. We always encourage people to check their own valves not knowing anything about their abilities or their resources. To some this is a very complex procedure and to others it is as easy as changing the oil. For me I couldn't have imagined doing the valve check before I traded my pliers in on a pair of robogrips. Them babies are nice. Biker Mike -----Original Message----- From: k650dsn@...
