nklr bandit 1200 en route

Heading my way (waiting for the credit union to call) looks to be a Y2K Bandit 1200S. At about $7000 out the door ($6299, +CA sales tax, + registration) it looks like a fair enough bargain. We shall see. I am electing it over the ZRX1100 (too much trouble to get in CA) for its aircooled screw adjusted motor, and its centerstand. I am electing it over the 2001 model Bandit because the Y2K is lighter and of course less expensive, with the intro of the 2001. I think a 2001 out-the-door would be about $8700. the Y2K also lacks those ugly mirrors gracing the 2001 fairing. 22 pounds lighter, though, is a fair amount. The TPS is a nice touch, but I'll be able to do without......I've ridden for years without it so nothing to hard to take there! My bud Orel who tunes GSXR's for the track says it should cost about $200 to bump it up to about 130 HP. Nice! It should look good in the living room, where I will keep it for a while.
