Gino, a man of seasoned perspective and ever the reliable voice of reason, points out:

In the case of the KZ1000, that's a good thing. After all, were the KZ still on the showroom floors, they might never have packaged ZRX1100 for you. Now, if the KLR650 goes the route of the KZ1000, for professional use only, could it mean I'll have to join the armed forces in a few years to ride a new KLR? Wow, the thought--Basic Training in my mid-50s. That'd be tougher than cleaning the Moab Rim Trail on a GoldWing. It might be more than I can be. Chris "Running? What is all this running? As a foot note. Albuquerque Police Department has purchased several KLR650s for patrolling ditch banks and construction projects. They are fitted with lights and saddle bags. Pretty cool. Gino

In addition it got a heavier flywheel, extra plate in the clutch basket, longer duration cam and better counter shaft. Gino
