The KLR650 got a new motor with a counter balance around 1996 (I
think). Maybe in 5 years they will upgrade to a digital dash. The KLR
doesn't need to win any races or compete against other bikes for a
first place. Therefor it doesn't need to be state of the art or
upgraded. There is no need for Kawasaki to stop producing it. People
are buying it and they sell out every year (unless the dealer is an
A******). Non of use here are CEO of Kawasaki, so none of use can
tell you YES or NO. My opinion there will be a 2002 model for us/you.
P.S. with a name like O.J., don't get too excited or people will be
affraid to ride with you.
