Thought it might be a help to all to list what we wear when it gets in the 30's or below. 1). How many of you ride in the winter? 2). At what temp. do you stop riding? 3). You forgot the electric vest. I ride most everyday. When it gets into the low 20's at high speed the feet get pretty cold. I just have a collection of clothes, my roadgear Eurotec Jacket and Pants are the final layer and do a very nice job. Fiday I'm heading to SLC and should run into some 30 degree temps, should be OK. For that I'll wear thin long underwhere, fleece pants, lined Eurotec pants, long sleaved wicking top, electric vest, wool sweater, insulated EuroTec jacket. Heater grips. I draw the line at about 20 degrees F. or ice on the road. I wear a First Gear Kilimanjaro Jacket usually w/o the liner and good winter riding gloves. Combat touing boots are on my feet. Commonly ride down to the low 20's, sometimes upper teens, if the roads are dry. Fingers on the left hand get cold as the grip heaters are less effective on the uninsulated bar side. (Might try heated gloves next). Otherwise it's all in the layering which is dependent on the length of the ride. Poly-pro, polar fleece, wool, and an insulated Yoko jacket are all on the list. If the throttle sleeve adds that much insulation to the right hand, then maybe it would help to fix some thin plastic insulation to left hand side also. You would have to buy an extra set of grips to use the larger throttle side grip for the left side, but it seems as though it would be $7.00 well spent. Gino

Depends on the day, but in the coldest conditions, I would typically wear a Fieldshear Cordura jacket with Polarfleece liner, a windbeaker under that, a rugby shirt and a turtleneck. For the bottom half, I wear nylon pants or FirstGear rain pants, Polarfleece lined jeans, polypropylene underwear, thick wool socks and Thor 327 motoboots treated with beeswax. For my hands, I have these D-cell powered ski gloves that I wired into a 3V cigarette lighter adapter. My hands almost get too hot; I'm going to put a small variable resistor in the circuit for this season. Mark B2 A2

I commute all winter as long as there is no ice on the road. The coldest temp was 15F but I've ridden on numerous occasions below 20F, usually not more than 80 miles round trip. I have a pair of fabulous Olympia Gore-Tex snowmobile gloves, my regular Fieldsheer or Te-Par (warmer) mc boots, and I layer my clothing thermal underwear, thick socks, Levis, tee shirt, sweatshirt, lined Levi jacket, and finally a goose down snowmobile jacket (F.A.T. Goose) that zips up past my chin. This jacket is too warm at 10F if you're involved in any sort of physical activity off the bike. I have one friend who rides in his snowmobile suit and seems to enjoy riding all winter. All my bikes have some sort of wind protection as well although only the Yamaha XS750 has a full fairing (Windjammer). Hope this Helps Ed Windsor Ohio

I've been gone for the last few days and have just read this.  Our friend Eric, a long standing member of this list, passed away in his sleep the other night.  I never met him personally, but as we seemed to be kindred spirits of a sort, I was really looking forward to this happening some day.   [color=#008000]I don't know what else to say...
