klr microfiche/

Hey Listas ..... I found this today while searching for a KLR manual. Yes, I know there's no repair manual other than the Kawasaki one but I wanted to look anyway. So this might be useful as a resource for a complete parts list. By the way, they sell the manual and supplement for a whopping $62 which means Fred Hink is still your best bet for the manuals. http://www.motocom.com/index.php3 ......I had to adjust this link because it wouldn't go straight to the KLR microfiche section where I was before...you can go to the above link and find the microfiche easily enough with a quick search, just click the 'motorcycle/atv' link....the site mentions you can do a lot just using the microfiche....they want $15 for it eric

Eric, at the peak of the list outage last week, our friend Steve loaded a digital microfiche program at; http://www.egroups.com/files/DSN_klr650/KLR+MicroFiche/ It all fits on a floppy for fast, off-line access. I don't recall it getting posted to the list. Maybe I missed it during egroups hiccup. Thanks Steve. Redondo Ron

As Redondo pointed out, I failed to announce that I put a HTML version of the Kawasaki KLR650 microfiche in the "FILES" section of the Egroup DSN site. This can be copied onto your own drive or floppy for handy PC parts reference. I believe this is all legit because it all came from non-copyrighted web pages that are free to use -- from www.buykawasaki.com . Keep in mind, the actual webpage may get periodic updates that this snapshot will not. It all fits on one floppy disk which is easy to carry with you on the road. I took one with me to Alaska but never needed it until I got home. I put up a seperate readme file that more or less explains what you need to do to set it up on your own PC. Once you've expanded the self-extracting picture files, you don't need to be attached to the internet to view the fiche. I find it very handy and even have it installed at work so I can order the exact parts over the phone from the dealer. The readme is at: http://www.egroups.com/files/DSN_klr650/KLR+MicroFiche/Readme.txt and the actual self-expanding fiche file is at: http://www.egroups.com/files/DSN_klr650/KLR+MicroFiche/ Clicking either will prompt you to sign in. Follow directions if you haven't registered before. Regards, -svt-

I just wanted to thank all the great people on this list for their with my "lean surge" problem. Especially, Steve A. Steve D, Rev. Chuck, Tom Stone, and last but not least I think Professor chipped in too. I haven't gotten to tackle the problem yet, but I am sure you diagnosed correctly. I also think I have a name for my bike unless someone else is using it. Hefty will be the beast's name. This was inspired by someone's recent post and calling the bike hefty trash bag colored. Thanks again, Robb '00 KLR650 "Hefty"
