pipe silencer?? - speak up!

No body seen this thing? It was cylindrical - polished metal finish - approx. an inch & a half in diameter - and attached externaly on the top of the pipe. One of the claims was that this system would allow you to use a more open better performing pipe - and quiet the thing down. I don't know if it was BS or not - but it sounded intriguing. One of you know it alls must have seen this thing. Speak Up! _________________
