[dsn_klr650] oil consumption

I have many highmile days on my '97 and I use about a quart per 1000 miles. However the increased oil usage only occurs after about 500-600 continuous miles around 700 I have to top off the oil and by 1000 I have used the rest of the quart. I haven't gone much more than 1000 miles in a day so I don't know if it would get worse with more mileage. The next day everything will be back to normal and I will use little if any oil unless I do another high mileage day. Jim Barthell
