They advertise very heavily around here.
I thought about getting one and discovered that the cleaning, drying and
re-oiling process is messy and can take hours while you wait for the filter
to dry. Plus you have to buy cleaning and re-oiling supplies as well.
Changing a paper air filter in the four vehicles I maintain takes five
minutes at most for the most complex one. The '97 Honda Civic's air filter
can be changed in under a minute.
I change air filters once a year regardless of mileage and it costs between
five and ten US$ per filter.
To me the K & N just isn't worth the work; never mind the cost.
