k & n filters nklr

Post by R. Kaub » Mon Aug 14, 2000 7:53 am

They advertise very heavily around here. I thought about getting one and discovered that the cleaning, drying and re-oiling process is messy and can take hours while you wait for the filter to dry. Plus you have to buy cleaning and re-oiling supplies as well. Changing a paper air filter in the four vehicles I maintain takes five minutes at most for the most complex one. The '97 Honda Civic's air filter can be changed in under a minute. I change air filters once a year regardless of mileage and it costs between five and ten US$ per filter. To me the K & N just isn't worth the work; never mind the cost. Thanks. Bob Kaub
