[dsn_klr650] they bring new meaning to the word dealer

Post by Fred Hink » Mon Aug 07, 2000 9:03 pm

Why do you think I can keep my prices as low as they are?  My "Farm Subsidy Payments" I go back to Kansas for.  Nothing like working on the farm to support your real job...    Fred  (my prices may not be the lowest but they are fair)

He didn't have them but he was willing to order them for about 25% more than Fred sells them for. Drove to Moab. Fred was in Kansas but his employee opened on Saturday and sold me $600+ dollars worth of goodies. Wish Fred owned the local dealership. Spent the weekend in Moab, with the wife, nice motel, meals etc. and still saved money. Got home and finally did my valves.

RE: Loose bolts bad mechanics (nklr) For a GREAT article on the making of a mechanic, see Robert Higdon's web page: http://www.ironbutt.com/higdon/higindx.html  Scroll down to the area: "Robert Higdon's Making a Mechanic Series. The following series of articles details Iron Butt Journalist Bob "do I hit the screw with a hammer to make it go in" Higdon's training at American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona Beach, Florida. Before AMI, Bob had never so much as changed the oil in his motorcycle..." Hit this link: http://www.ironbutt.com/higdon/higami0.html for the first of the reports. These articles are long, but for anyone who has every fantasized about going to one of these schools so they could service their bike from top to bottom, its a must read. I was almost crying at times, this guy is funny.
