Had the same thing happen with a girlfriend's cage - guy had 60 PSI of air in a tire he mounted. Rang up, sent a rocket down the phone, much apologies, blah blah...he'll probably do it again next week. I think we've got a few mech's on the list, both bike and cage. What I'd really like to know, from these guys is, where does this crap ( and sometimes dangerous) servicing come from? The ratio's of substandard work to good is pathetic, especially for bikes. Cages aren't much better. What is it? Is there a lot of stupid people lining up to be mechs? Is there a culture of doing the bare minimum and not double-checking, either 'cos that's what all the other guys in the shop do, or because the shop manager wants bikes in and out as soon as possible? Ok, its not rocket surgery, but I know plenty of people in 'working class' occupations that bust ass to do the best job possible. Machinists that turn out pieces with amazing precision and finish, welders that will grind off a weld several times until they can give you the best, cleanest, strongest weld they can...the list goes on. Does professional bike wrenching attract the same loser squids that ride around in T shirts and sneakers, who decide after a few months that they'd rather be riding their 'donor than working on them...? Just looking to understand... Rich
