I have almost ruled out bash plate inadequacy and am leaning towards unqualified cro-magnon wannabe mechanic. I went to speak with the Kawasaki dealerships management who was quite receptive (suprise). He had someone follow me home load the A1 in their pickup and took it back to the dealership to "take a look at it". Was more than I hoped for. Seems as though they may have had a couple complaints recently.I didn't see cro-magnon mechanic either...hmmmmmmmmmmm Mike "hopefully with an oil-tight klr soon" Awesome> I concur with Dennis, just went out to check mine on my new Moose > Bash plate and the drain plug does not protrude on my 93. painting acerbis tanks?
Does anyone have any experience with painting Acerbis plastic fuel tanks?
I've heard that they don't stand up well to California gas and should be
coated with something. I've heard recommendations of POR15. Kreem doesn't
stand up well to CA gas additives- I have personal experience with that. POR
works better, I've been told.
I will have the tank professionally painted, since the urethane bumper paint
I tried didn't work well. My painter assures me that the paint he will use
doesn't blister in the presence of gas. What does the collective wisdom of
this list have to offer?
