new klr owner (sort of)
Hello:
I used to own a 98 KLR, sold it to purchase a Ducati, sold the Duck, and,
(a few more bikes in between) I'm back with a used 99 KLR I just snagged.
Wanted to say hello. Met a few of the folks in Moab during the 98 KLR
rally and have been out of touch since then.
After trying unsuccessfully to get a nice, used 98 or 99 KLR from any
of the local dealers I turned to a friend who has 6 bikes and asked
him to sell me his KLR. He agreed. It has just 1400 miles on it (100 of
which are from me), and all of the Kawi saddle bags, tailbags, and
tankbag stuff. He's also got the Dualstar centerstand and the braided
front brake line.
I'd like to add some goodies like a White Bros bash plate, Hotgrips,
and some Driveline racks, etc.. to it soon. I'd do a combination of
my local dealer (gives me 10% off of retail) and Fred Hink who I met
a few years ago. Does Fred give discounts? I've got to get some of
the small stuff like the bash plate, aftermarket shift lever, and
progressive springs ASAP.
Questions:
1. Are they any KLR owners on here from Colorado Springs?
2. Do you still hold a spring Moab rally? If so, is there ia page
yet for 2001?
3. Anyone up for some Moab 4x4 and dualsporting in, say, October of
2000?
