year differences?

Hi: I'm shopping for a used KLR. some questions to the list: 1) Is there a web site or can someone tell me the differences between the year models? As in "in 199X they upgraded the stator output" or "199X models and newer have the better suspension". 2) Where is the best place to buy OEM style plastic parts? Any motorcycle junkyards that cater to the KLR crowd? MAW has aftremarket parts but I'm looking for stock stuff. That's about it! The archives answered most of my other questions.
