[dsn_klr650] front sprocket

Post by Zachariah Mully » Wed Jul 05, 2000 12:46 pm

Not meant to irk anybody, but isn't swapping out the front sprocket something you're supposed to be able to do at the trailhead? (15T->14T or vice versa) Now it sounds like the dirty truth is coming out ;-) So I should add a 5 ft breaker bar, a can o' lube, perhaps an impact wrench, and a torch to my kit? Mind as well as the Snap-On guy to follow me around in his truck.... Zack "Peter Dahlheimer, MD" wrote:

[dsn_klr650] shift lever finally broke - ideas for replacement?

Post by Errett, Brian S » Wed Jul 05, 2000 3:26 pm

Well, as so many people have noted - the stock shift lever is less than sturdy. Mine broke at the weld (with no other help than my oversize clown type feet/boots) - unable to find a non-stock replacement right away, I bought another one (the weld also looks crappy) - so I was wondering - is there a good aftermarket shift lever (maybe one of those one piece jobs) or any particular brand anyone would reccommend? Thanks! -Brian E. A14 Tijeras, NM
