Not a stupid question, but neither is: How well does the KLR swim... Wheelies are natural on the KLR, but with the right technique, any bike can be wheelied, really; I have done a full dressed HD. I, how ever, would take into account the pending back trauma should anything (it will) go wrong. Be prepared to pick your bike up from its side, a ways from where you will be sitting, that too can injure your back. My best opinion, since you ask: Find a field, preferably freshly plowed, and give 'er heck. You will pick up your own style. Rolling mid-range in first, clutch goes in, more than natural throttle, slip the clutch out, not popping it, and slightly pull back. The KLR does not need a pull on the bars, but you can control the rise better when you instigate the lift. Use your back brake, but remember the angle will be greatly different, so over using it will be easy and you will flop back to earth. Master first gear launches first then try second-gear-clutch-pop at higher rpm. Oh, make sure your pants wont slip on the seat, riding the rack is not fun. Be careful, think about it clearly. Enjoy your mid-life crisis staring at the clouds. --- Rev. Chuck :^)>+ A13 http://klr650.50megs.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Send FREE Greetings for Father's Day--or any day!
