[dsn_klr650] women who love the klr

My wife knew I had wanted to get a bike but since we live in the boonies she was skeptical that I would get any real commuting use out of it (that was my excuse of course -cheap commuting!) I told her Iwas going to get a DS/Enduro type and it would be fine on the miles of unimproved dirt as well as on the interstate - said she had never heard of such a bike.... So I bought an A14 and she says WOW, So thats like a 4 wheel drive motorcycle then! Thats really cool! - we took one 2 up ride around on it and she decided she wants one too... She not much into how something looks as long as it will do anything, go anywhere etc... (hmmm, what does that mean about me?) -Brian Zachariah Mully wrote:

Hey Zack, maybe it wasn't the KLR she liked. Some guys have all the luck. Actually I have an A13 with the mud splat graphic on the gas tank or as some have called it; Factory Vomit. I have received many positive comments from woman about how cool the mud splat looks. My guy friends think the mud splat looks stupid. Cool with me as I'm not really trying to impress the guys. -Brian Shepard Philadelphia PA A13 -----Original Message----- From: Zachariah Mully [mailto:zmully@...] Sent: Monday, June 26, 2000 1:52 PM To: KLR650-List Subject: [DSN_klr650] Women who love the KLR All- I feel that I have to share this story with all KLR owners... When I first bought my new Green Go-nad (A12) I parked it in front of a coffe house so I could drink a coffee and admire it. A young chickie, the mgr there, super-cute, comes out and says "like, is that a cool bike or what?"..."Wow, that is such a cool bike".... "wow, what a cool bike, I am envious"....she later ended up being my roommate for a while when she needed housing, but it was the bike that broke the ice. On the other hand, most chickies my age (or close enough, I'm 49 next month) are only interested in knowing why you don't own a Harley, they're not interested in riding, or anything like that. Just, do you own one (Harley). Yes, I feel socially alienated most of the time. But it's not going to make me knuckle under and buy a Harley, or anything else. The KLR is in the living room right now, getting readied for a four-day camping weekend next weekend, and I'm riding my beemer for work today.
