I don't trust any one of them.... not a one. You can't, you know.....if you do, you'll get hurt. You could make it illegal to hit a motorbike, and do you think that it won't happen any longer? Out of 100 drivers (about one block's worth, where I live) 97 are in a hurry and don't give a shit about anyone's safety, and 30% of those are already doing something else at the same time as driving. 15% are drunk or under some other influence. 60% of them are as dumb as cows. Put yourself where they can't hit you!

You guys are right, of course. And I always ride defensive with my gear on. It is just that I get so sick of that automotive driver excuse of not seeing us. I was only saying that I personally don't believe their excuse. My feeling is that they don't want to see us, or somehow feel that we are inferior to them because we are on two wheels. On the part of making it illegal to hit a motorcyclist, or bicyclist for that matter, I still think its a good idea, especially since in 99% of the accidents the only ones that truly suffer are the riders and their families. It may or may not work, but perhaps, just perhaps, guaranteed jail time might open up the eyes of a few auto drivers. Even if only one m/c rider's life is spared a year, then I think it would be worth it. Just my personal opinion, not intended to offend anyone. Jim Sherlock
