questions: handguards

Post by Dale Johnson » Mon May 22, 2000 10:43 am

I went to Chaparrel this weekend and got a new rear tire, its a Bridgestone, Not sure which one at this time but it looks better than the stock one without loosing the dirt capabilities. Soo anyway while I was there I saw a set of acerbis handguards and was wondering if anyone has installed them? Do they fit a KLR? and your opinion in general. They were the Rally DualSport Handguard with a blinker on the handguard. Since I shatered a rear blinker this weekend, I was thinking there is no better time to get this handguard, I can take off the fron blinkers and wire in the handguards Then replace the one I shatered in back with the one from the front. Comments? Suggestions? Dale 00 KLR650 with 5900 miles

A dealer in Fayetteville tried to sell me one too. (He sells both Kawasaki and Suzuki.) I sat on it and was reminded of a very slightly padded 2X4 for the seat. I'm sure it is a very nice dirt bike, but it does not fit the bill as a dual sporter in my view. Of course, you have to keep in mind that my butt is approaching 50 and comfort is more important than it used to be. I'll stay with the KLR even with a stock seat. BTW, my A13 had a Corbin seat on it when I bought it and I have been happy with it. Jim
