read any good spark plugs lately? [nklr]

'Reading' spark plugs is important when making performance modifications and/or carb jetting changes. It is also a valuable diagnostic tool to check on the internal health of the motor. Properly reading a spark plug is useful to check or pre-ignition or detonation problems. There are many tech articles available on the net. I found 50+ links by using this search string (with the double quotes):: "read spark plug" or "reading spark plugs" Many of these links have detailed photos showing what to look for (good & bad). It's important to know the proper procedure on HOW to perform a plug check, which is covered in some of the articles. You can't just stop your bike, let it cool for a bit, pull out the plug & read it. Here are a few useful links: http://www.strappe.com/plugs.html Gordon Jennings article http://www.cyberhighway.net/~djones/tech.htm Technical Articles and Links http://www.motorcross.net/sparkplugs.html Spark Plugs and What They Say http://www.centuryperformance.com/spark2.htm Reading Your Spark Plugs We can learn a lot of useful info while poor Tim is stuck out there riding in Colorado.
