valve shim change

Post by John Laybolt » Mon May 15, 2000 5:18 pm

Hi All, I probably am asking for trouble with this one but I'll ask anyway. I have determined I need to change 3 valve shims. Fine. Found a source for them. Fine. I CAN NOT find a torque wrench to reassemble. I have one on order from Harbour freight but delivery is 2-3 weeks because they're busy(yes, I ordered it over a week ago). In/Lb wrenches seem to be common in the US but I can't find a 1/4 or 3/8 one here in Canada. Has anyone replaced shims and buttoned everything up without a torque wrench? I really can't wait the 2+ weeks for mine to get here. I'm leaving for Alaska in 4 weeks and still have to finish my break in. Currently disabled at 800KM. It is not the amount of Ozone that is the problem. Most large electrical stations produce much Ozone. The proble (so "they" say) is the LOCATION of the Ozone. As in the Ozone Layer that is supposed to protect us from the greenhouse effect. Personally, I have yet to be convinced the problem is as great as it has been assumed by the ALL KNOWING media...who I completely trust (NOT!!!) IMHO the press create many more problems than they solve due to altered/and half truth information to sell more than report and to promote their own agenda than help people. OOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I better stop there or my fingers will start to cramp, and my blood pressure will peak! Dust A14 "Rhino" Man with BIG Grin (and absolutely NO trust in the media)
