[dsn_klr650] suzi dr200: nklr
the non-lowered dr200 is still fairly tall for a short person. it would work
for my wife, but she's around 5'8 or so. we got her (yeah right, it's really
for her) an xt225 which is plenty short. she can put both feet flat footed
and have them bent considerably, yet the bike still has over 11" of ground
clearance. also a very smooth engine, which seems perfectly happy to turn at
freeway speeds (60-65, not 80 mph).
she let me borrow it last weekend, and i had a real hoot and holler on it. i
was doing trails that i would never conceivably have survived on the klr.
it's just so dang easy to ride. i was even doing downhills that woulda been
kinda hard on a mountain bike (had a few high adrenaline moments looking
down a rocky switchbacky chute, but i knew i didn't want to go back down the
hill i'd come up earlier, so i pressed on).
anyway, what you obviously need to do is go sit on some. it may end up that
the suzi is lower, but that's hard for me to imagine. whatever you end up,
have fun, and ride safe.
