Got the mufflers in the mail today ... 1 stock KLR and 1 stock KLX. The KLX looks pretty cool and won't take much to fit but due to loosing the side cover and removing a large chunk of rear fender to fit it, I think it'll have to wait for ratbike status to start appearing. The KLR muffler has a bit of tweet and I may have it replaced under warranty if it gets any worse. While fooling with the original on this bike, I think I found the tweeter. I modified the original for great sound (on the road) but found it a little too rowdy on the trail although it's still the quietest bike I've heard in the places I've been. The main reason for going back to unmodded stock is for the spark arrester that was eliminated in pursuit of a non-lawn mower sounding ride. The mods I did worked great and looks good enough that knowbody knows I've tinkered with it at all. Gino ... thanks and did you get the leathers yet? Steve in Cincinnati
