Arne: I don't know. I volunteered to do something but at the time, I wasn't sure about what days I would be there. My wife has Primary Lateral Sclerosis, a motor neuron disease, and I never leave her alone more than one night at a time. Since I volunteered, I've rented a handicap-accessible suite for five days and will take both my wife and our cat to Moab so I no longer have a problem. I don't know many of the close-in shorter rides and I don't want to 2nd guess Gino or any organizers, but if I had a preference, I probably would choose to lead a few riders through Lockhart Basin. It's tougher than the White Rim but not unreasonable for a good rider not intimidated by a heavy machine. I don't think I would try it with stock gearing, though. I rode it a couple weeks ago with a 14 tooth countershaft sprocket and a stock rear. That worked fine. This is my first rally. I'll play it by ear and see what the organizers say. Actually, I do have a problem. Moab is three hours away and I will have to drive over in the car with wife and cat, drive home and return on the KLR. Somehow I have to coordinate this process with Motel check-in times. Kind people have offered to trailer my bike, but I really want to ride it there just on principle. I'll work it out somehow.
