carb boo-boo :-(

Hi List, just wondering how much damage I may be doing by not using a torque wrench when reinstalling front and rear wheels.(not too tight so they still spin,not too loose so they don't fall off, not too scientific huh?) am I asking for bearing problems or is this still safe territory for tightening by feel?.....thanks all....cosmo

I've had my '92 KLR650 for 3 days. I rode it the first two days, then wheeled it into the garage for general maintenance. I had trouble getting the fuel line disconnected from the tank. It took a lot of effort, and when it did come free, the other end, connected to the plastic nipple on the carb, came free also... with the broken plastic nipple still embedded in the rubber fuel line. As an added bonus, I got fuel splashed in my eye. Anyway, I don't have enough nipple left coming out of the carb to attach the fuel line. Can that nipple be replaced (I couldn't identify it on the parts chart)? Is there a "McGyver" fix that will be good enough?
