nklr: klx dirt only conversion to dual-sport street legal status?

Hey gang, I'm getting no where fast in my search for a KLX 650 C, or a KLR 650 up here in the Pacific Northwest. Has anyone had any experience converting their dirt only KLX 650 to dual sport, street legal status? There's a KLX off road version up here that I might consider buying and then buying the Baja Designs dual sport conversion kit to make it street legal. Any tips on licensing this thing in WA state? Thanks, Ed ps: looking for a KLR or KLX, budget is around $3k, in Pacific Northwest. pss: unfortunately I'm finding that a lot of the ads in Trader Online are old and the bikes are sold already, its driving me nuts. I keep thinking I've finally found a KLR or KLX, but then its sold already when I call. psss: also posted similar message to KLX list and searched the KLR archives.
