I've been reading this thread with interest. Nobody ever told me this 
 was difficult aso I just assembled my black car links one Sunday 
 afternoon using Moss bushes, some dishwashing liquid, common 
 sense and some minor help from the vise and other simple 
 implements. Then I touched up the paint and bolted the shockers 
 back onto the car for the first time in 30 odd years. They've been in 
 place for a 4 years and they'll probably stay there for a few more. 
 Now that I know that its difficult, when I fit the shocks to my cream 
 car, I'll probably battle all weekend! I'll keep you all posted.
