Moss lists a rubber anti-rattle ring (part #262-320), which according
to their illustration, goes around the inner steering column shaft.
What's the purpose of this part and is it really needed?
Since my BC box has been rebuilt and is ready to go back in the car,
I'd really hate to have to disassemble it again, to install this ring.
Thanks.

The roads around here are pretty decent, so I'll leave it out.
Thanks!

Hi John
A couple of hose bib washers will work just fine.

Not sure if it is the same, however, the TD has a felt bushing at the
top and bottom of the steering shaft... one of mine is loose and the
rattle of the inner and outer shaft drives me crazy... Doesn't rattle
when driving straight but on turns it is annoying. If you end up with
the rattle, you will strip it all down again.
