sounds like brake squeal

Post by klar650 » Thu Jul 01, 2004 11:23 pm

Got me a new klr650 and was puting around on some hills when a heard what I first thought was brake squeal but then I noticed it would continue when I was at a compleat stop. Is this the "tweety" thing or is there an unhappy engine bearing or some thing. It's intermitant and only noticable at idle.

Muffler bearing going out, no doubt.

And at idle my bike makes the voltmeter read 14.3 volts. Is that strange, cause everybody talks about the weak alternator on the KLR, the voltage goes up when I rev it to like 15.6 or something with the low beam on. Seems to fit the purpose to me. Dooden A15 Green Ape
