elden carl's balancer shaft adjustment procedure

Post by Hiro A. Watanabe » Fri Sep 01, 2000 10:03 am

The reason for leaning the bike over is because the lever is not held on the shaft and can stick to the bolt and be pulled part way off the shaft. This is also why I recommend doing this procedure hot as warmer oil is not as sticky. There is no real advantage to laying the bike over beyond 30 or 40 degrees. Thank you Hirosan

Would there be any advantage in laying the bike on it's side? Your method is quite detailed compared to the vague comments in the factory manual. Turn the bolt back in and torque it to 8.5ft. lbs.
