Don,
The ONLY way you can end up facing the WRONG way is if you put your
LEFT foot on the right footpeg...!
OK - repeat after me: The right side has the throttle and both brakes, the left
side has the clutch and shifting duties...! ;>)

My favorite way to mount the KLR is to walk up to the left side, and swing my right leg over the seat and onto the ground. I have a 35 inch inseam.
I couldn't resist. :>)

Same here, 'cept my inseam is 30/31. I start with the kickstand down
and when I'm on I'm balacing with the toe of my size 13 shoes. No
problemo on firm ground. Not in 20's physical shape either. Maybe I
need to get off road!
