nklr - homeowner's association problems - part 2

Post by Denis Dimick » Fri Jan 12, 2007 8:49 am

Fred, I work with a bunch of PhD's, most of them are fairly retarded when it comes to anything outside of their area of study. While most of them spent time in school, a lot of us spent time working on bikes, cars, etc. I look at it this way; When I ask a dumb question about DNA, the star system or whatever, they are only too happy to spend the time it takes to "dumb it down" so I can understand it, the least I can do is share my talents when they need my help. Cheers, Denis

This kind of generalization is like saying that all mechanically-inclined folks are like the grease-monkey Goober on the Andy Griffith show: talented in their own way but seriously stunted in others. As (Dr.) Chris Krok and others on this list amply demonstrate, that couldn't be further from the truth. Let's see: in the past week we've taken on H-D riders (again!), HOA board members, profligate Democrats and Republicans, and academics. Can't wait to see who's next...

Ahh .... go easy on the French. Been there twice and the people have been great. Now their politicians (and most other politicians of the world) now that is a different story. Criswell

Gee, Sorry if you took my comments to mean that mechanically-inclined people where like Goober, it wasn't intended that way. I guess I should have stated: Some of the PhD's I've know, where not very well rounded when it came to life skills. The ones I really get a kick out of are the ones that don't know how to look you in the eye when they speak to you, it's weird to have them look at a wall when talking to you. As for the French, how'd you like to go around knowing you'd lost every war for the past few hundred years? Denis

Hi JT and my other 7000 friends, Well, if you CAN wait just another ~36 hours, and if you can-- Come to N44*31'0.12", W99*26'24.93" at 11:15 on Sunday, and I am certain you will hear 'a different story' than one(s) we have been all reading this past week. (In this story) There will be disgruntled 'board members' of an itenerant preacher, a thief, a prostitute, a prolific writer, perhaps Roman or two, and a (soon to be dead) messiah. Should be enough to keep you (collectively) interested for at least 15 minutes. The TEASER: It is all about 'AGENDA'. Yeah, we all have one.... DING! DING! DING! But Wait--There is MORE!!!! And as a Bonus: there is dinner afterwards. revmaaatin. Who suspects someone will complain about NKLR content, Hey! get a life-with-a-parked-KLR! Its -5F and blowing snow (and did I mention it is dark?), you might as well know that I am not riding my KLR and have resorted to the 'integration and reflection' part of my Sunday job (as well as the day-following service where I will also, bury one on Monday....) A special thanks to all the DSN_KLR650 clan; I hope all of you learn and are as richly entertained as I am by what we read here, about about what goes on in the (other riders)world, as seen, experienced and reported through your eclectic posts.
