Hi Roger,

Your first idea works very well. On carb floats too for that matter.
Higher temp environment doesn't seem to hurt the petrol tank liner. Though
don't know what the outer limits are.

Here is a genuine tech. query for all you TA owners to answer:

The floating sump oil pick-up must have a flotation chamber, but a friend
just called to say his has oil in it. A bit like SU floats really, they get
some petrol in and still float, but not as well as they should.

I suggested either petrol tank sloshing compound to seal up the leaks, or
spraying in some expanding polystyrene foam, but do not know if this will
withstand hot oil.

So over to you chaps....
