I am in need of an original TC slow running control and cable in working or restorable condition. I have a Moss replacement which does not lock in either direction of twist. If anyone has one they would sell, please let me know. Thanks.

My TC don't run slow an' it leaks oil outa the rear main bearin' screw
an' the steerin' is twitchy as all git out an' I hafta take the rear
knock offs off ev'ry 2 hunert miles jus' t' drain the oil out of 'em an'
I tore the body number plate out an' I threw it away 25 year ago an' I
still git more actual use outa my car than all of you put together could
in the next two hundred and fifty years.

I wish I were able to drive my TC daily. I am pretty resourceful, but I
still haven't been able to figure out how to carry around the stuff I
need for my job in my TC instead of my truck.

Hi Gang- The slow running cable runs thru the firewall thru the little
thingy where all the cables go thru and loops up and down to attach to the
slow running lever # 61 part # 372-590 with a cable stop #63 part # 375-108
in the Moss Catalog. The cable stop pinches the wire with a special nut and
then attaches to the lever arm and is held in place with a cotter pin. There
is an adjusting screw on the lever arm to set the slow running cable if need
be.

Fred - there is a picture of the right hand side of the engine in the
gallery under Asbjorn Pinholt name and photos which shows the slow running
cable looping up and over the air cleaner and down to the lever arm. It does
not show the lever which is on the throttle shaft behind the front carb.

To what John wrote earlier, you will also need the slow running
control lever spring #62 part #372-600 and the cable housing stop
bracket #58 part 372-580. The bracket holds the end of the cable
housing from moving and has a hole for the actual cable to move
through. The spring #62, end also pokes through this bracket and the
other end of the spring pokes into the cable stop. The bracket is
held in place with the bolt between the carb/filter air manifold
tube. All part numbers come from the carburetor page in the Moss
catalog.

Pictures are hard to come by as most is nestled behind the carb to
filter manifold tube. Not easy to view. There is a drawing on page
245 of TCs Forever and measurments of the bracket so you can make one
up.

Can someone give a run down on what the slow running control does, mine is
hooked up but it does not do anything that I can see. I looked in several
books and did not get much help. Also how do you adjust it?
